“Paramedics treated the pedestrian — a woman in her 50s — at the scene. Despite their best efforts, sadly the woman died a short time later. Her next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. There were no other reported injuries.”

The force also confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with the collision, and investigations are ongoing.
